Helping Other People Everyday
(Partial list in no particular order)
·Smile at Others – it’s quick, easy, and free
·Use Your Manners – say good morning, a nod, say please and thank you
· Hold The Door for Others
·Occasionally Pay for the Next Persons Coffee or Lunch – you will be blessed for it
· Offer to Mow Your Neighbor’s Yard – especially if they are older or in poor health
·Be Friendly to Your Neighbor’s – Not nosy or imposing…just enough to notice if
something seems off or they are in need
·Leave a Christmas Card or Gift for Your Mail Carrier
·Donate to a Local Children’s Home
·Give a Gift Card to a Family at the Laundromat
·Donate Food, Blankets, or Toiletries to a Local Homeless Shelter – the greatest need is
for socks
·Paint Rocks with Your Family and Leave Them Around Town to Spread Cheer
· If you hear of someone in need through your church, work, or friends and you can
help, do so. Offer directions, tell them resources that may help them, if you
have extra….give it.
· Have a diaper drive at your church or business
· Ask if your child’s school has a general lunch account to cover kids in need and donate
as you can. This may be the only meal they get daily.
· Give a basket of snacks, teas, and coffees to your child’s school traffic
attendants. No matter the weather they are there every day for our kids.
· Some schools offer laundry services to students, donate fragrance free detergent or
similar items.
There are soooo many more I will add to the list over time. These are just a few to
hopefully spark your imagination and drive to make a difference. Involve your children to reinforce the
importance of H.O.P.E. Take the opportunity to turn the, “Do we have
to?” into “What are we going to do next?”
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over,
will be put into your lap. For with the measure, you use it will be measured
back to you.” Luke 6:38
